Has anyone figured out what a "Host" is?

In the comments why is there one person designated as a "host" with a blue border around their avatar? Does everyone see the same host?

I mean, does the Host have any special powers (editorial or otherwise)?

A couple of Knight 2000s for your trouble:

No idea. At first, I figured it was the same as author, but that doesn't seem to be the case. No one seems to be showing up as host for this thread for me either so go figure I guess :/

The host is the moderator of the conversation. They have no special powers. The host is usually the author, but it can change to another member if the author hasn't yet participated, or if you're viewing a user's curated discussion .
